Re: [IMC-Tech] boston imc: need help to solve spam before BioTech protests
Howdy Sofia,
The dadaIMC captcha function does not generate a random code on each
individual page load, but rather one image that lasts for a period of
time. Although this is of limited effectiveness for deterring spam, it
is substantially better than nothing.
Also, do I infer that you changed the otherpress module PHP yourself to
display the captcha field? Last time I checked, the latest codebase
from dadaimc.org didn't have captcha support for otherpress.
To help out other folks using dada, could I ask that you send your
modified PHP to the imc-tech-AT-lists.indymedia.org list, to the dadaIMC
list dadaIMC-AT-lists.dadaimc.org, or to me directly if there is concern
about posting spam-deterrent code on a public list?
Thanks.
