Failure to read these instructions could easily render your site inaccessible until you sort it out!
- Change to the
docsdirectory in your IMC site, and place the tarball you just downloaded there. - Unpack the tarball with
tar -xvzpf dadaimc_upgrade_97_981.tar.gz. - If your UNIX account name for dadaIMC is "imcuser", you should find the directory "
upgrade_98" already owned by the correct user.
If not, usesudo chown -R [imcuser].[imcuser] upgrade_98andsudo chmod -R g+w upgrade_98to change the owner and permissions to match your UNIX account. - Move the
upgrade.phpscript out of theupgrade_98directory, and into the root level of your site folder. - Access the page at <http://www.yourdomain.org/upgrade.php>.
- When you submit the form, the script will:
- update your dadaIMC database schema (rebuilding the media centers table, adding fields, help and documentation)
- backup all of your .php and .inc files as
filename.inc.dadasaved - replace many of the original dadaIMC files, with some additions. Class files will be deposited in an
imc_classesfolder, even if you've moved the original to an include folder. dadaIMC will use the local folder over an include folder, so you may leave this newimc_classesfolder in position until you've converted all the dadaIMC sites on your machine.
- Any modifications you have made to the files will be replaced (but backed up), so you may have to recreate the customizations.
- After a successful upgrade, you can reload the
upgrade.phpscript in your browser to get a link that allows you to delete all the backup files. - You may want to return the
upgrade.phpscript back to thedocsdirectory. - Now enjoy your publishability! Comments, problems, feedback to support(at)dadaimc.org.
